PALS Training

Decisions get made every day that affect wages, job safety, and benefits.

This interactive Politics, Activism & Livelihood (PAL) workshop connects real-life ‘bread-and-butter’ issues—work, wages, healthcare, retirement—to the decisions made in government

What you will learn

  • What “livelihood” really includes (wages, healthcare, paid time off, pension, training, safety, and more).
  • How unions secure those things—and why “the union difference” matters.
  • How politics and government decisions impact your everyday life (not just elections every few years).
  • Why money isn’t the whole game: corporate spending vs. “boots on the ground,” and the power of voting and activism.
  • How endorsements are made and how to make informed decisions using practical tools.

What to expect

  • Interactive, not a lecture: small-group discussion, quick activities, and a “Reality Check” quiz.
  • Respectful ground rules: respect differences; debate issues, not people; assume good intent.
  • Practical takeaways: voter registration handouts and Government Affairs resources for next steps.
